Collection: Jason Olivier

"Jason Olivier is a painter, illustrator, and musician based in Port Alfred, Eastern Cape. Born in Port Elizabeth, he earned a diploma in Fine Arts from P.E. Technikon. Working primarily in oils, Olivier’s paintings show an affinity for the expressive traditions of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, where brushwork and colour become vessels for mood and emotion.

His subject matter ranges from the vast, brooding landscapes of the South African coast to the quiet, personal corners of his home—each rendered with sensitivity and honesty. “Whether I'm painting the fading twilight over our riverine estuary, the gloomy mountains above a tiny dorp, or my deceased relative’s favourite chair,” he writes, “I like to capture familiar scenes in a way that feels personal and genuine.”

Guided by an intuitive, unforced approach to observation, Olivier’s work seeks moments of visual harmony—an invitation to slow down and feel a sense of belonging in what we see, and where we are."
