Bag for Life by Oscar Henning
8 x 3cm Bronze statue
Edition 2 of 7
Bag for Life
The statue is a visual representation of the climate crisis and our inaction around it, triggering cute yet sad emotions. The collection is deliberately playful on first viewing, like little toys that our children might inherit. The artist says, "some of us who might have the power or agency to make a real difference, by pressurising corporations and governments. Instead we make small token gestures thus not taking meaningful, impactful steps. Buying reusable shopping bags, but filling them with exotic plastic wrapped produce, is a perfect example of that."
Other statues in the series are: “Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?“ and the untitled Meerkats.
The statue is supplied with a brass rod affixed with screw for ease of mounting.
