About the artist
Dominique Edwards works primarily in drawing and sculpture. Her practice is largely studio based and involves a physical, often labour intensive engagement with material. The series Skinning the Whole, a collection of ink drawings from her show Feelthings was made in relation to her plaster of Paris sculptures. The drawings, large dissipating ink-pools are also suggestive places of origin for the objects in question. Dominique lectures part time in visual art, drawing and photography. She holds an MFA from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Cape Town, and a BAFA from the University of Stellenbosch.
