Dani Le Roy was born in 1977 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is currently based in Cape Town. She studied Interior Design at Design Time School of Interior Design, completing her diploma in 1999. Prior to that, she briefly explored studies in Drama, Philosophy, and Psychology at the University of Cape Town, as well as Painting and Sculpture at Ruth Prowse School of Art.
Le Roy’s artistic practice first took form through an installation of abstract paintings and lighting at Veo Gallery in 2005. Since then, her work has been included in several notable group exhibitions, including Within the Fold I & II, a travelling exhibition presented by SMAC Gallery in Stellenbosch and Johannesburg (2022). In 2023, her work featured in Loud and Clear and Back in Town at SMAC Gallery, Cape Town, as well as RMB Latitudes at Shepstone Gardens, Johannesburg. Most recently, in 2024, Le Roy’s work was part of SMAC Gallery’s booth at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
